Traveling with younger kids can be stressful! I’ve made a list of items or hacks that have helped us get through long road trips or flights with our toddler boys!

Activity Tray

Shop the 2023 King Arthur Spring Catalog

This activity tray was worth it to us to carry onto our flights. My older son, 4.5 years old, really enjoys coloring so he had this on his lap for almost the entire flight. He colored on the marker board on the tray itself and then he also got his other activities out and used it as a table. Some reviews on this item were negative because the people were surprised it didn’t stand up on it’s own. I’m saying that so you will be aware that it does not stand up by itself, it does lay on the child’s lap.

Magnets

Magnets are always a fun way to pass the time. Of course you will need to watch your child with magnets at all times but these I’ve linked are fun because they are little people that magnet together.

Writing Tablet

My kids love these writing tablets. I throw them in my purse and take everywhere in case they need some entertaining at the doctor’s office or a restaurant. The pen is attached to it. There is a delete button on it that they like as well. These were perfect on our flight to Florida this year.

Water Wow Coloring Book

My kids really enjoy coloring so these Water Wow books were perfect for the airplane ride. It’s mess free. All you need is to add water to the paintbrush before you leave.

Dot Stickers

These dot stickers go along way with little ones. They enjoy being able to peel them off themselves and having a ton of them! Whatever keeps them busy, am I right?

Puffy Stickers

My kids also enjoyed these puffy stickers. They are also easy to peel off and they are easy to back off when it’s time to go, too!

Window Clings

These window clings are awesome, especially if you have a window seat on the plane! Perfect if you’re going on long road trips and the kids seats are by the window.

Headphones

We limit screen time as much as we can but on long road trips and flights, we have no limit. Whatever gets us through. These headphones have worked great for tablets, iPads, and for their Tonies boxes.
