I have found the perfect solution to organize your kitchen cabinets and to reduce messy Tupperware food storage cabinets, losing Tupperware food container lids, and kids or baby dishes and cups exploding out of the cabinets. My type A and OCD starts coming out when I open my cabinets and things fall out or I can’t reach or find a piece that I need. I really wanted a roll out cabinet drawer but I couldn’t find one that fit my cabinet perfectly without wasting space in the cabinet and building one sounded like a long and effortful task. Insert these amazing pull out storage bins!

These containers I found at The Container Store are perfect to organize your kitchen cabinets and reduce chaos! The dividers are removable so you can adjust the size of the space you need for each items you are storing. This is what I did to maximize the space in my kitchen cabinets and neatly store all my food container bowls/lids and my kids dishes – their sippy or straw cups, bowls, plates, etc. This would be great for baby bottles and accessories, too! Don’t let the price alarm you when you click on the link. That price is for a bundle. You can pick and choose which bins you want and most of them are under $10!

Stak bins were added and I chose to leave a little room for my toaster and anything else I may want to put there but I could’ve easily fit 1-2 more bins there.

Measure the cabinets

To organize my kitchen cabinets, first, I measured my cabinets. I did not measure the inside of the cabinet but I measured the opening space of the cabinet so that I could still easily pull these sliding containers out when I need to reach the back of them. If you measure the interior of the cabinet and your cabinet has a lip, frame, or hinges, you won’t be able to pull the containers out adequately and that will be frustrating. My cabinets don’t have a frame but the hinges get in the way so I had to measure from hinge to hinge.

As you can see, my cabinets were able to hold the following sizes with room to slide and pull but didn’t waste too much space. This does take some math. Once you measure, you have to look at the measurements of the containers and determine which ones will give you the most storage space and waste the least amount of cabinet space.

Measure your dishes

The next thing I did when organizing my kitchen cabinets is measure some of my staple dishes to make sure they would fit such as the biggest kid’s plate we have, the biggest kid’s bowl we have, the biggest kids cup. I measured a large, medium, and small food storage bowl to get an idea of where they would all go. What’s the point in having 4 small bins if none of the large food storage bowls will fit..

Reorganized the kids dish cabinet using the Stak Bins from The Container Store! This makes my Type A heart happy. My sippy cups, straw cups, kids bowls and kids plates are all organized and easy to find.

The bins I decided to purchase for my kitchen cabinets after measuring:

Here is the link again to the bins in the photos: The Container Store Bins. I purchased the taller bins for my taller food storage containers and for the kid’s plates. I purchased the shorter bins for cups, bowls, smaller food storage containers, and koozies. My cabinets were able to fit the 17-9/16″ length bins perfectly so all of my bins are that length but they do have shorter ones if you need (which I later purchased for my kid’s medications – see below). The 6.5 inch wide bins were perfect to store two kid’s cups next to each other. The 4 3/4 inch bins were perfect for kid’s bowls.

Kids Medication Cabinet Organization

After, I organized my kitchen cabinets with these bins, I loved them so much I ordered more to organize my kid’s medicine that we keep in the kitchen as well. These pictured are the shorter bins since we keep the kid’s medications in the upper cabinet and those cabinets are not as deep. Medium STAK Bin w/ Wheels Clear 6-1/2″ x 11-7/8″ x 5″ h Item # 10074072 and Small STAK Bin w/ Wheels Clear 4-3/4″ x 11-7/8″ x 5″ h Item # 10074071

It’s so easy to pull out the container and reach the back and put it right back in the cabinet!
